Privacy Policy
The short version
Your course progress stays in the app's on-device storage. Depending on your Apple or Google device-backup settings, an encrypted operating-system backup may also contain app data. There is no Escape Nicotine account, analytics, advertising, or tracking. Apple or Google and our purchase-validation provider, RevenueCat, separately process an anonymous app identifier and purchase history when purchases are checked.
Course data stored on your device
- Your product choice (cigarettes, vape, pouches, chew) and optional cost-per-day
- Lock-In questionnaire answers (your belief scores)
- Waves you log with the SOS tool
- Ambush reminders you schedule
- App settings (text size, narrator speed)
- A cached course-unlock state
This course data stays in the app's local storage, subject to any encrypted device backup you enable with Apple or Google. There is no account, sign-up, email capture, analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking in this version.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play). RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, device or platform identifiers needed for purchase validation, and purchase or receipt history so the app can unlock and restore the course. We do not send RevenueCat your course progress, Lock-In answers, wave log, Ambush reminders, email address, or name.
Your controls
- Export: Settings → "Export my data" produces a JSON file of your locally stored course data and the anonymous purchase support ID used for support requests.
- Delete: Settings → "Delete everything" erases locally stored course data. Current builds also cancel scheduled Ambush reminders; if an older build leaves a reminder behind, disable Escape Nicotine notifications in system settings. This does not erase App Store, Play, or RevenueCat transaction records.
- Purchase-data request: Email your App Store or Play order/transaction ID to support@escapenicotine.com. If your Settings → "Export my data" file includes an anonymous purchase support ID, send that too. We use either identifier to locate a RevenueCat app-user record for a deletion request, subject to records Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or applicable law must retain.
This website
escapenicotine.com is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
App update checks
Some earlier app builds check Expo's update service at launch. That request can include ordinary network metadata plus the app, platform and version; it does not include your course progress, Lock-Ins, wave log or Ambush reminders. Future store builds disable this update check and ship app changes through Apple or Google.
Age
Escape Nicotine is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly process purchase data for anyone under 18.
Health note
Escape Nicotine is an educational program, not medical advice or a medical device. If you use prescribed nicotine-replacement products or medication, talk to your prescriber before changing anything.
Changes
If a future version changes these practices, this policy and the app's store privacy labels will say so plainly.
